At Community Storywork, we firmly believe that everyone has a story worth sharing. When I'm out gathering stories, it's common for people to say, "No one wants to hear my story," or "I don't have a story." However, more often than not, those very individuals end up astonishing me with their tales. The saying, "take off your shoes as you are on holy ground," feels apt, as I often find myself metaphorically losing my socks in awe of their stories.
So, here is a warm and open invitation to join us as Carl Gough sits on his favourite bench in Margam Park, waiting for you—yes, you!—to come along and share your story with him. Or, if you prefer, simply listen to him share one of his.
This could be a moment you'll cherish, as we surely will. If you don't mind us recording the audio, your story might even be featured in a new podcast series we're developing, which aims to uncover the extraordinary tales of ordinary people. What may seem like the smallest, most insignificant story could turn out to be a pearl of great price.
Join us on Wednesday 24th of July any time from 12:30 non 'till 5pm. at the beautiful bench featured on this page, crafted by the talented wood artist Chris Wood.
